Types of Massage

Maintenance massage is a regular treatment to loosen off tightness within the soft tissues to improve performance and prevent injury. It will also alleviate the stress and tension which builds up in the body’s soft tissues, using firm pressure and specific techniques. This in turn will encourage relaxation, energises tired muscles and can improve posture.

Pre and Post Event

Pre is a fast, light techniques which are used to stimulate and increase blood flow to promote oxygen absorption within the relevant muscle groups. This will then enable the muscles to work at their optimum level, increasing flexibility and range of movement whilst reducing exercise. Post is aiding the muscles to return to their natural pre-event state. It speeds up the removal of toxins reducing muscle spasms and fatigue.

Even with preventative massage, sports massage can speed healing, reduce pain and discomfort, reducing the risk of re-injury.
